Endless Summer Regatta | September 20-21, 2014

FWBC Sailing Team traveled to Seabrook, TX last weekend for the Endless Summer Regatta and we had a blast! We had 10 sailors attend. It was a rough regatta starting out with windy and wavy/sloppy conditions. Day two was much lighter and shifty, producing a challenging regatta for all. We combined efforts with Rush Creek YC for coaching duties. It was great working with them. Our kids got to know each other and make new friends. Our Greenies did very well considering the scary conditions on the first day.  Our top finisher was Anthony Ceplecha finishing 10th out of 35 boats. Way to go! Most of our Red/White/Blue Fleeters’s got their first taste of what it’s like to be out of Green Fleet. It’s like starting over and being thrown to the wolves. A major portion of the fleet are some of the best opti sailors in the country. Our guy’s have to realize they have just started their journey to becoming the top sailors. I’m very proud of them they did great and learned a lot. Our Laser sailors did great and also learned a lot. I have seen a lot of improvement. Shelby Thorton finished 9th in the 4.7 Fleet and Alex Schwinn finished tied for thirteenth. Will Toothe and Harrison Alexander were 3rd in the 420 Fleet. Nice Job everyone! A special thanks goes out to all the parents for pitching in and helping.
