FWBC at Dallas Corinthian Yacht Club

October 4th, 2014 by admin

On October 4 and 5th the FWBC Sailing Team went to Dallas Corinthian Yacht Club to sail in the 13th TSA event of the year. Dallas Corinthian Yacht Club did a nice job of putting on the regatta and they were very hospitable. This was my first trip to DCYC and I was impressed with their sailing area and the size of their property. Our team did outstanding and I’m very satisfied with the improvement of our Laser and Opti Sailors. Christophe Chaumont was our top Laser sailor finishing second overall. We have seen big improvements with all our Laser sailors. Keep Up the good work! Our Opti RWB sailors are improving as well. I’m watching our new sailors shed their Green Fleet style of sailing and watching them start to roll tack and work on their speed technique. We have to focus on them getting up on the starting line and getting good starts with speed and staying focused. Our top sailors in the RWB Fleet were Trey Leathers and Lucia Rezevic. Nice Job to everyone you all did great. In the Green Fleet we had another outstanding performance by Anthony Ceplecha and Jackson Cobb finishing 1st and 4th overall. They will be graduating to RWB Fleet. Congratulations! We had a couple of Guest sailors participate with Team FWBC, Dutch Byerly, Paul Houston and Kara Scully from Lakewood YC.
