The Fort Worth Boat Club invites you and your crew to the 41st Ol’ Man of the Sea Regatta, October 7-9, 2016
This regatta will be sailed on beautiful Eagle Mountain Lake and open to all spinnaker and non-spinnaker divisions under the PHRF handicap rating system, as well as one-design classes including, but not limited to Catalina 22, J/105, J/22, J/24, J/70, J/80, Viper 640 & VX One. We hope to make you feel at home and enjoy your stay at FWBC. Please come out and join us for a wonderful weekend of yacht racing, entertainment, and camaraderie.
The regattas shall be governed by the rules as defined in the 2013-2016 Racing Rules of Sailing.
The regatta is open. One-design classes may be declared for fleets with four or more boats. Probable classes include J/105, J/80, J70, J/24, J/22, Catalina 22, and Santana 35. A Cruising Fun Fleet may be formed for novices and boats interested in casual racing. Boats not sailing in one-design classes will be scored using FWBC PHRF time-on-distance allowances.
To register online, click here. To register by mail, complete and sign the attached form and mail it with the required fee to Fort Worth Boat Club. Unsigned registration forms can result in a boat not being scored. The deadline for Ol’ Man of the Sea registration is Saturday, October 8th at 9:15 AM, at which time fleet divisions will be made.
The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission requires that no alcoholic beverages be brought in or taken out of the area prominently marked with TABC signs.
Trophies will be awarded based on the number of boats in a fleet and as determined by the organizing authority.
NUMBER OF RACES:
Every attempt will be made to conduct six. Should weather or safety prevent this, the Regatta may consist of not less than one race. There will be one throw-out for six races completed and no throw-outs for less than six.
A three-ton (6,000 pound max.) crane with spreader and straps is available for launching and retrieval. A concrete launching ramp and two mast cranes are also available.
Please invite your friends and family for Dinner and Live Entertainment on Saturday night. You don’t have to be a Racer to enjoy the Party! Showers and locker rooms are available.
If you have any further questions about this regatta, contact the FWBC office at 817-236-8393.
