40th Anniversary Ol’ Man of the Sea Regatta
Friday, October 3rd Saturday, October 4th Sunday, September 7th This regatta will be sailed on beautiful Eagle Mountain Lake and open to all spinnaker and non-spinnaker divisions under the PHRF handicap rating system, as well as one-design classes including, but not limited to Catalina 22, J/105, J/22, J/24, J/70, J/80, Viper 640 & VX One. We hope to make you feel at home and enjoy your stay at FWBC. Please come out and join us for a wonderful weekend of yacht racing, entertainment, and camaraderie. The regatta shall be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing, the class rules of the applicable one-design classes, and the official Sailing Instructions. The regatta is open to all sailors. One-design classes may be declared for fleets with four or more boats. Probable fleets include Catalina 22, J/22, J/24, J/70, J/80 and J/105. Boats not sailing in one-design classes will be scored using the FWBC PHRF time-on-distance allowances. To register online, click here. To register by mail, complete and sign the attached form and mail it with the required fee to Fort Worth Boat Club. Unsigned registration forms can result in a boat not being scored. The early registration deadline is Friday, September 26, 2014. Register by this date to receive entry discount. Registration closes on Saturday, October 4 at 9:30 AM, at which time fleet divisions will be made. The entry fee includes participation in the regatta, use of mast hoists for mast stepping, trailer storage/boat dockage for the duration of the regatta, use of cranes to launch and retrieve boats (3 ton maximum), and participation in the regatta’s Sunday award presentation. The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission requires that no alcoholic beverages be brought in or taken out of the area prominently marked with TABC signs. Trophies will be awarded based on the number of boats in a fleet and as determined by the organizing authority. Every attempt will be made to conduct six or more races. Should weather or safety prevent this, the regatta may consist of not less than one race. There will be one throw-out for six races completed and no throw-outs for less than six. J/22 Fleet– will be charged a $4 Fleet Fee per Boat A three-ton (6,000 pound max.) crane with spreader and straps is available for launching and retrieval.
