Junior Sailing

Fort Worth Boat Club is proud to offer year-round youth sailing programs for sailors ages 8–18. Our junior program is designed to introduce young athletes to the lifelong sport of sailing and support them as they grow both on and off the water.

Whether they’re brand new to the sport or looking to take their racing to the next level, our sailors benefit from hands-on learning, dedicated coaching, and the chance to be part of a close-knit, supportive team.
Through regular practice, regattas, and team events, junior sailors gain confidence, develop strong technical skills, and build friendships that last beyond the dock. They also learn valuable life lessons like communication, leadership, and dedication, all while having fun and enjoying time on the water.

This summer, we’re thrilled to see several of our talented junior sailors taking their skills beyond Texas as they head off to compete on national and international stages. It’s inspiring to watch these young athletes seize opportunities to learn, grow, and represent FWBC with pride.

Later this month, our ILCA sailors will be traveling to California to compete in the ILCA 4 World Championships, one of the most prestigious youth events in the class. We’re proud to have Isla Mrstik and Shiloh Mabry representing both FWBC and Texas on this international stage. These sailors have put in countless hours on the water, and we’ll all be cheering them on from back home as they take on some of the world’s best.

Our Optimist fleet is also showcasing FWBC talent far and wide. Evie Hyland and Ashlyn Josephson will travel to California to compete in the USODA US Nationals Regatta, taking on top young sailors from across the country. Ashlyn is also gaining even more experience before Nationals, testing her skills in new conditions at the Fogh Boorman Regatta at Royal Hamilton Yacht Club and the National Capital Regatta at Britannia Yacht Club in Canada.

We’re incredibly proud of the dedication, hard work, and adventurous spirit these sailors are showing as they represent FWBC. Let’s all wish them fair winds, great races, and an unforgettable experience on the road!
