The Fort Worth Boat Club hosted the 2025 Cattlemen’s Cup on Saturday, May 17. Though small in attendance, there was spirited competition between Nolan Catholic and Southlake Carroll High Schools. The weather was great, and we had a group of great volunteers. Lilly Moody and Brigid Valenti brought home first place.

Off the water, Mickey Valenti (Nolan Catholic) and Gentry Schneider (Southlake Carroll) put aside their team rivalries and attended each other's spring prom dances last month. Go Vikings and Go Dragons!

Senior Spotlight:
Reid Johnson - Adios Trophy

Watching Reid Johnson grow from a wide-eyed summer camper into a driven, confident sailor has been one of the many great joys of our program over the last decade. What started as a love for sailing on his home lake quickly turned into a passion that took him far beyond our shores. Over the years, Reid has raced in regattas across the country, navigating everything from choppy coastal waters to high-stakes national events.
He’s competed at Youth Worlds, Youth Champs, and US Nationals, and raced in some of the most well-known events in youth sailing, including Mid-Winters East and West, Orange Bowl, North Americans, and the US Open. Along the way, he’s also raced in regional championships like the D13 and D15 Champs, No Coast, and Atlantic and Pacific Coast Championships, each one shaping him into the sailor and leader he is today.
Having graduated from Northwest High School this May, Reid is now heading to the United States Air Force Academy, ready to take on new challenges with the same determination and focus that brought him this far. We’re incredibly proud of his journey and can’t wait to see all that he accomplishes in this next chapter.

Congratulations Reid!! Sail Fast!!
