FWBC Juniors Show up Strong in Dallas!
12
The junior sailing team had an awesome regatta weekend earlier in April at Corinthian Sailing Club in Dallas! They competed in the Opti Green, Opti RWB, and ILCA fleets, showing off their skills and determination. Saturday was packed with racing and great conditions, and the team really brought their A-game, setting themselves up nicely for Sunday.
Then came Sunday, and things got intense with winds hitting 20 knots and gusts into the 30s. It made for some seriously challenging racing, but the team pulled on all their skills and gave it their all. Even with the tough conditions, they still brought home a 1st, two 2nds, and a 3rd place trophy, proving just how tough and dedicated they are.
To cap off an exciting and rewarding weekend, the team gathered for some fun and bonding at a Stars game. It was a fantastic experience for the sailors, coaches, and parents alike! The weekend was filled with hard work, impressive victories, and unforgettable memories for these talented junior sailors.

Annual Regatta and Cowtown Stampede Recap

The weekend was unusually cool on both days with a cold front moving in from the north, which challenged both sailors and equipment. Thank you to both Danny Bullard and Jason Adams, our PROs, and their teams for managing the race courses and the racing. We were excited to welcome back the J24 fleet as a circuit stop. This year we were also able to include our Junior fleet into the event as they were not on the TSA circuit, as a result, we had 33 entries with over 100 sailors on the water for both keel boats and center board classes.
Congratulations to our podium winners as follows, with close racing all weekend in difficult conditions being windy and cooler than seasonal norms.
