Junior Race Team

FWBC Juniors Podium in Austin!

The Junior Race Team had an incredible weekend competing at the TSA Roadrunner Regatta, hosted by the Austin Yacht Club. The event brought together talented young sailors from across the region, creating an exciting and competitive atmosphere. With fantastic weather and steady winds on Saturday, our sailors took full advantage of the ideal conditions.

In the ILCA 4 fleet, our sailors secured impressive 2nd and 3rd place finishes, while the ILCA 7 fleet saw strong performances with 4th and 7th place results. For the Opti fleets, FWBC sailors shined, taking 1st in Opti Blue and 4th in Opti Red. Special recognition goes to our two green fleet sailors, who completed their first full regatta with incredible determination.

It was a weekend of growth, teamwork, and success for the Junior Race Team. We’re proud of all our sailors and their outstanding achievements on and off the water!

Cowboy Up Clinic for ILCA and Opti sailors

Tackin' Texas Clinic

Last month, FWBC had the privilege of hosting Steve Mitchell, Team USA's ILCA Coach, for an intensive training session at the Tackin' Texas Clinic. This event provided an incredible opportunity for our sailors and others to sharpen their skills under expert guidance. It also marked the beginning of many exciting performance clinics we plan to offer here at FWBC.

Roadie Series Results

Congratulations to Mark W. Smith and the crew of Eau Là Là on winning the 2025 Roadie Series. The series was closely contested between Eau Là Là and SkyFall, with only 1 point separating them going into the last race of the series.

It was fantastic to see six J105s competing in the series, and we’re excited for even closer racing this spring. With the growing momentum, we look forward to welcoming even more boats to the action. The strong turnout of J105s in the previous series sets the stage for an even more competitive and spirited start line. We can’t wait to see you out on the water!

2025 Annual Regatta and Cowtown Stampede

- presented by Lakeview Boating Center, April 4th - 6th

Annual Regatta Logo 2025

We are thrilled to announce a new title sponsor for our 2025 Annual Regatta, Lakeview Boating Center, alongside the generous support of Whitley Penn Financial Services, Linda Allen State Farm Insurance, Bip and Bernie Nauta at Sotheby’s, Briggs Freeman Realtors, and Commodore Marc Nilsson. Your contributions make events like this possible, and we are deeply grateful.

This year, we have 22 teams registered to compete so far, with two race courses planned. The first course is dedicated to our Junior racers, featuring Portsmouth Centerboard boats, including Optis, ILCAs, and FJs. It's an exciting event to watch, so we encourage everyone to come out and cheer them on! The second course will host larger keelboats, including J105s, J22s, and a visiting fleet of J24s traveling from across Texas.

Patio Entertainment on Eagle Mountain Lake

Races will take place on both Saturday and Sunday, with six races scheduled across the weekend. Whether you're on the water or enjoying the view from the patio, we invite you to support your team and join the fun.

To cap off Saturday's events, popular entertainer Chet Stevens will perform live starting at 5:30 PM. We look forward to seeing you there!

Volunteer & Get Involved

Regattas like this can’t happen without a strong team behind the scenes. We’re looking for volunteers to assist on the water throughout the weekend—whether you have experience or just want to be part of the action, we’d love to have you.

This year’s Principal Race Officers (PROs) include:

  • Daniel Bullard – PHRF course

  • Jason Adams – Centerboard course

In addition to racing, we’re hoping to secure a few extra boats to serve as support or spectator boats. If you have a vessel available for use during the regatta, please reach out!

Fort Worth Boat Club Regatta information will be posted on the FWBC Regattas Page.

Race to the Eggs Regatta - April 19, 2025

Race to the Eggs Regatta

Get ready for an egg-citing adventure on April 19th! Join us for the Annual Race to the Eggs Regatta, where fun meets the water in a one-of-a-kind competition.

The event kicks off with the Skippers Meeting at 1 pm in the Regatta Bar, followed by a harbor start at 2 pm. Any non-motorized vessel is welcome—whether you’re sailing, paddling, or rowing, there’s a place for you in this thrilling race!

The goal? Scoop up as many floating "eggs" as you can to rack up points. It’s part regatta, part scavenger hunt, and all fun! Don’t forget your nets, lifejackets, and competitive spirit as we hit the water.

So gather your crew, prep your vessel, and let’s make this year’s Race to the Eggs Regatta one to remember. See you on the water!
